March 2007, High Point, NC--Excelsior Designs offers retailers more to love during the spring 2007 High Point Market. In its dramatically expanded showroom, the new space abounds with the modern style and classic design for which the company is so well known.

Excelsior Designs

"Ceriana"-revived and updated-this contemporary bedroom makes an encore in hand-joined olive ash burl and Tanganika veneers providing an interesting contrast between the figured and linear grains. A curved theme echoes throughout the collection with polished steel arcs giving the appearance that each honey-finished piece is floating.

The totally new platform bed satisfies the minimalist while intriguing those who like drama in the bedroom. Case fronts feature veneer in a diagonal pattern giving a chevron appearance. The media chest is perfectly scaled for viewing a plasma TV from bed but also meets the electronic and storage needs for smaller dens. A glass door Vitrene for displaying treasured mementoes and fine china is the perfect complement for dining rooms, living rooms, and bedrooms.

Casa Novalia

Italy is renowned for fine design, exquisite tailoring, and sumptuous leather. Casa Novalia, the leather upholstery division of Excelsior Designs, is coveted for the same attributes. This spring, the company introduces two new styles, both shown in crisp and modern white leather.

The "Conforto" features a layered appeal to the arms, base and expansive back rail. An articulated headrest can be moved from the back to over the back cushion for maximum comfort and head support...a truly unique application of the "hidden" headrest!

The "Capitol" is rich in styling detail as well as functionality. With wide, flared and tapered arms, and crisp tailoring of the back and seat cushions, "Capitol" like the "Conforto" also features a new twist on the "hidden" headrest. A hidden lumbar pillow appears from under the back cushion and gently raises the back to cradle the head in heavenly comfort.

As with all Casa Novalia leather upholstery, any frame can be custom covered in your choice of over 50 fine leathers and accented with assorted toss pillow shapes and sizes.

Custom Rugs

Rugs give a room warmth and finesse...not to mention, provide a perfect backdrop for furniture. Whether subtle or powerful, the design, texture, and color of a rug will create a mood and feeling of completeness. Eighteen new designs and color ways are added to the custom program that offers rugs in every conceivable size and shape. This season's colors are fresh and inspired by nature from the muted tones of the desert to the lusciousness of the Caribbean. The palette includes chartreuse, bright blue and green sea glass, mocha, and sand.

Select Seating

Customization is important to today's consumers. Everyone loves the ability to be unique and individual but the choices can sometimes be overwhelming. Excelsior Designs' "Select Seating" makes it quick and easy to "design your own" dining room. Each chair is a work of art, finely crafted in Italy, with finishes from black lacquer to rich sable to light honey. Any of the 20 contemporary and transitional dining chairs are available in a wide variety of finishes and upholstered in your choice of selected fabrics plus Ultrasuede® colors. The options are nearly infinite...but the selection process is effortless with "Select Seating."

Excelsior Designs, its leather upholstery division Casa Novalia, and the "Nicole Miller Collection" share a permanent showroom in High Point's IHFC Design Center D1110. All of the company's case goods and leather upholstery are manufactured in Italy. It is headquartered in North Amityville, NY where it also maintains a distribution center servicing retailers and special orders in addition to their direct container program.
